What is Makers@The Mint?
Makers@theMint is a weekend pop-up retail event at the historic Old Mint in downtown SF on November 23rd & 24th. It will be open to the public from 11am to 6pm, free of charge and full of hand-made products, food, music and entertainment, and …of course Makers!
The entire Mint will be turned into a “Maker Department Store” for the weekend.
Each room will contain various products and merchandise that are related. Carefully selected designers, artists, and craftspeople will work together in each space to create an experience for the public to see and even take part in the production of their merchandise.
The Mint Building
The Old Mint, located in downtown San Francisco, is a stunning National Historic Landmark slated to become the San Francisco Museum at the Mint. The Main Floor has 12 rooms of varying sizes, including the elegant “column room” and a small vault.
The courtyard provides outdoor space right in the middle of the building. The Vault Level has six vault rooms of varying sizes and interesting spaces underneath the building’s portico.
