Teen Robotics Camp

Build and Program Your Own

Autonomous Robot!

  • 5 days, 9 am - 3 pm
  • Grades 9 - 12

In this fast paced five day camp students will build and program a small autonomous robot based on the popular Arduino micro-controller. Students will be exposed to circuit building, soldering, infrared sensors, programming, and robot safety. On the last day their robot will compete against other student robots in an autonomous task. In addition, students will use a vinyl cutter and heat press to brand their team t-shirt. Each student will take home their own Parallax Robot and programming manual to continue learning on their own. And, of course, they keep the t-shirt!

Previous programming experience is not required, but the camp moves quickly and students who have some exposure to programming concepts will get the most out of this camp.

Students bring their own lunch each day and any snacks. We have filtered water, a microwave, and a refrigerator for their use.

While this camp is not specifically for Scouts, any Scout who successfully completes the class will earn the Robotics merit badge.

The camp cost is $650 per student for the five days, plus a $200 lab fee to pay for the robot kit. Students take their own robot kit home.

We also offer After Hours sessions for students who can't be picked up immediately after camp at a rate of $25 per hour. Students will remain supervised and may continue working for up to three hours after camp finishes. If you want to arrange for After Hours sessions, please send an email after registering for the camp to training@makernexus.org

Each camp is limited to 10 students, so sign up now to assure your spot.
